We are pleased to announce that we contributed to the last edition of Monumental, the French scientific and technical magazine on Cultural Heritage Conservation.
Lacune ou fissure ?
Les dégradations d’origine mécanique des peintures murales: proposition d’une méthode de travail intégrative
(Gap or crack? The degradations of wall paintings dues to mechanical factors : proposition of an integrative working method)
By Simona Sajeva
The paper is based on the book:
PITTURE MURALI, I DEGRADI DI ORIGINE MECCANICA. MANUALE PER RESTAURATORI ED INGEGNERI (see more)
Monumental is published by the French Diréction générale des Patrimoines.
This number proposes to make a point, in a transversal way, on all innovative techniques and processes developed or used in recent years in the field of historical monuments (buildings and movable objects), restoration and treatment in preventive and curative conservation.
In addition to a review of the research carried out by national universities, public and private laboratories, the magazine gives the floor to projects managers, restorers and to the cultural services managers to present, through recent case studies, the problems that have risen, how to solve them and how they use these new tools and techniques.
A number that will be a milestone, because it allows us to glimpse the perspectives that are already evolving, the techniques and how to design and conduct restorations.
